Your child’s first visit will be fun and easy!
Getting to know Dr. Dove will be a fun and enjoyable experience for you, your child, and us. We will review your child’s medical history and make sure you are comfortable with our procedures and staff. Below are several questions that you may have before your first visit.
When they are one year old. Our office, as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Dental Association, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry all recommend establishing a dental home for your child by one year of age. Children who have a dental home are more likely to receive appropriate preventative and routine oral health care.
You can help make the first visit to the dentist both positive and enjoyable. It is best if you refrain from using words around your child that might cause unnecessary fear (such as “needle”, “poke”, “scrape”, “drill”, etc).
Our office makes a practice of using the tell-show-do method. We will always tell your child about a procedure, show your child how it works / feels / sounds, then when they are comfortable, we will do the procedure.
On your first visit to our office, please bring your insurance information (a card if you have one), and our new patient paperwork already completed.
Your insurance determines your deductible. Any amount not covered by your insurance will be due that day.
We accept all private insurance. We are in network with Delta Dental. Other insurances are considered out of network, but will pay to us if you can choose your own dentist. Upon verification of your insurance, we will file your claims for you as a courtesy.
For anyone who doesn’t have insurance, we offer a 10% discount if paid by cash, check, or credit card at the time of service.
We are not accepting new patients with Medicaid.
Yes! Dr. Dove completed extra training in pediatrics and caring for children with special healthcare needs. She has hospital privileges through Atrium Health at the University and Main locations.
We will try our hardest to put them on the schedule together. Once they are, we will let you know if they are at the same time, or back to back. We know that our parents have busy schedules, so we do our best to stay on schedule!
